She explained that it breaks the ice with "no mistake fear" so faculty and students can raise dopamine with laughter, movement, positive peer interactions, and optimism and be motivated to sustain participation.

  • To promote enthusiasm try a community building activity that can be used to build momentum in educators then to build participation comfort in students. It was one of the RAD lessons created by 35 amazing teacher leaders in a 3-day Institute I just finished for the Learning and the Brain group that was put on right in my home town at UCSB. I'll post some of their RAD lesson plans in the EDGE network discussion page called, How the Brain Learns http://edge.ascd.org/_How-the-Brain-Learns/group/110564/127586.html and post the video here
