Healthy School Communities invites networking and sharing of resources, ideas, and practices that encourage a coordinated approach to school health programming and policy within school communities.

Join the group and share comments, post events, and meet other community members working to improve teaching and learning by addressing students' and school staff's physical and emotional health needs.

Group members are also encouraged to sign up for the Health and Learning News and Updates biweekly e-newsletter for current school health news, resources, and announcements.

  • American School Health Association (ASHA) Post Conference Workshop: Gaining Administrative Support for School Health by Working Together

    The focus of the workshop is how to gain administrative support for meeting student health needs and promoting academic success through a coordinated/team approach. You will have the opportunity to interact with 2010 winner of the ASHA's Superintendent's School Health Leadership Award, as well as coordinators from several local school systems who will share their wisdom and successful lessons learned in working with their Superintendents.

    This exciting, highly interactive and applicable workshop is scheduled on Saturday afternoon especially to encourage participation by CDC Funded Partner sites who are attending their conference starting the following day.
