Earlier this week  I had the honor of keynoting at the International Boys' Schools Coalition held in the greater Philadelphia area on the campus of the Haverford School. There were about 600 delegates from around the world in attendance who are focused on providing quality education for boys pre-K through grade 12. When I was invited the planning team was reading Curriculum 21 and had originally thought I would speak on the ideas and themes in the book about the future of education..then, they had an idea. WHAT IF? What if they were to solicit video clips from classroom teachers around the world and send them to me? What if I were to build my presentation around best practice that we can see in the clips? What if afterwards, the delegates meet in small groups with moderators to discuss how to use video for professional development? I agreed to the challenge and only requested that a few boys who are students in one of their schools help shoot live video the main session and breakout discussion groups.

For me, it was really one of the most exciting experiences I have ever had as a speaker, teacher, and learner. A bonus for me was to have Stephen Wilmarth coach me into finally using PREZI (see attached photo capture) as my presentation approach instead of powerpoint.
